08.14.06 - Cancer Walk Hits Home for San Diego's Jacob Tyler Creative Group
San Diego, CA - August 14, 2006
For the next 23 weeks, Jacob Tyler Creative Group's co-owner, Wendi Kollegian, will be walking all over San Diego to prepare for the Breast Cancer 3 Day-a three-day, 60-mile walk raising funds to benefit the
Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the National Philanthropic (NPT) Breast Cancer Fund. Doing the walk will raise awareness
in communities and generate funds for research education and outreach programs.
Wendi's mother-in-law, Barbara Kollegian, is a recent breast cancer survivor. On Wendi's Web site, www.the3day.org/sandiego06/gowendi
visitors cannot miss the profound statement, "I walk because I cannot walk away." Wendi's goal is to raise $5,000 toward cancer research by having friends and family sponsor her every mile.
"I am enormously proud of Wendi's commitment and her selfless gesture of love toward my mother and the other survivors," said Les Kollegian, founder and creative director of
Jacob Tyler Creative Group. Les is also a cancer survivor. His two-year battle with testicular cancer gave him an intense understanding of the range of
emotions cancer patients undergo, not to mention their huge sense of relief and celebration at becoming survivors. "I am encouraging everyone I know to contribute
to this important cause. Jacob Tyler Creative Group will donate $1000 to the cause which in turn will hopefully contribute to a cure that will be seen in our lifetime," he declared. To donate to Wendi's three-day walk,
