San Diego, CA -- May 15, 2007--Jacob Tyler Creative Group owner Les Kollegian will be one of the judges determining the winners of the American Institute of Graphic Artists San Diego student competition at San Diego University on June 2nd. The event will host students from all San Diego College design schools and programs. Kollegian has also donated a $500 scholarship toward the third place Best in Show winner, and is hoping the competition will help recruit new talent for his own firm.
"I am excited to be a part of the event, not only as a judge, but also as a sponsor," said Les Kollegian about the event. He added, "These students are incredible graphic designers and have a lot of great ideas. This is a great way for our firm to sign on new local talent that will grow with our business."
A nationally renowned graphics designer and branding specialist, Kollegian is an ideal judge for the event. Most recently, all 30 of his design submissions were accepted into the "Big Book of Logos," an industry creative resource for design and advertising agencies. There were 10,000 submissions from the top 500 U.S. creative agencies, and only 2,500 logos made it into the final book. Publisher David E. Carter declared, "This is a very rare accomplishment."
Kollegian received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland and his Masters in Communication Design from the University of Baltimore.
