Jacob Tyler and Van Vechten Creative Merge to form Creative Powerhouse

JTCG and VVC Merge

SAN DIEGO - October 1, 2009 – Jacob Tyler Creative Group and Van Vechten Creative, two of San Diego's leading brand design firms, today announced that they have merged to form one of San Diego's largest full-service creative agencies. They bring together over 40 years of strategic branding and identity, print collateral, web design and development, marketing, product design and packaging, and online marketing services.

The company will continue to operate under the Jacob Tyler brand and will maintain offices in downtown San Diego. The union formed out of conversations the principals initiated while attending the annual AIGA Leadership Retreat earlier this year. “It became clear early on that we had a lot in common, shared similar business philosophies, and that our skills and experience, if combined, would be a force to be reckoned with,” said Charlie Van Vechten, owner and creative director of Van Vechten Creative.

The new company is well-positioned to meet the demands of our global client base who increasingly require expertise in all aspects of creative marketing. “Both firms are full-service agencies, but Jacob Tyler’s fluency in interactive design and social media combined with Van Vechten’s long record of success in print media and brand strategy will allow us to offer clients an enhanced array of expertise and solutions all under one roof,” said Les Kollegian, owner and creative director of Jacob Tyler. “We feel when businesses are juggling multiple vendors, they will see some loss of message coherence in the final materials. Bringing all the design and messaging needs into a full service agency like Jacob Tyler will save time and money and will produce better results,” added Kollegian.

“Clients are going to get the best of both worlds,” said Van Vechten. “We are both committed to the very best customer service. Clients will receive all the attention and flexibility of a smaller agency while enjoying the broad capabilities and effective results of a much larger design firm.”

Jacob Tyler and Van Vechten Creative’s combined experience in the design and marketing field has garnered numerous awards and national recognition, including five 2009 American Graphic Design Awards and seven 2009 Creativity 39 Awards. The clients they have served are equally impressive and include companies such as; Intel, Lamkin Golf Grips, COVERPLAY, Qualcomm, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Venetian Hotel Las Vegas, Palazzo Hotel Las Vegas, Terranea Resort, The Anthony Robbins Companies, Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute, Stroller Strides, Active.com, and San Diego Symphony.
