PROJECT: Branding & Identity
When entrepreneurs Dana Stallings, Jody Rogers, and Chris Guimond decided to establish
their own spa business, they turned to Jacob Tyler to help build their brand and identity.
The principal challenge for our team was to distinguish the new spa from the competition
located in San Diego's downtown area. The branding and identity centered on the image of
a quiet, serene, and relaxing retreat in the heart of San Diego's business district. The
materials also needed to capture the spa's old world ambiance. Spa Velia's identity,
collateral, and website have incorporated the same design elements and consistent messages
throughout, all working to cleanly communicate the spa's luxurious atmosphere.
Today, Spa Velia has been named "Best Day Spa of 2007" by Citysearch, and it has exceeded
sales projections since opening. The website has also won the W3 Award presented by the
International Academy of Visual Arts.
